YogaSynergy: Fundamentals of Spinal Movements with Toni WESTAWAY
Thanks for shopping with The Yoga Shop UK!
We take pride in our products. After all, we have tried and tested these products to make sure they are a high quality for you! Your order is important to us, which is why we want to make sure that your products arrive at the time you expect them and in excellent condition. Please take a moment to review our delivery and order processing policy to be informed of how and when your order will be processed and delivered.
Orders placed by noon on a working day (excludes Public Holidays) are processed and dispatched on the same working day. Orders which are placed after this time will be processed the following working day.
We are a small team of three working between the office and warehouse - if there is an issue with your order processing or dispatch we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss, and let you know how your order will then be processed and delivered.
**Please be aware that any orders placed on or immediately following a release date or during a sale, your item(s) may be delayed and may require up to 48 hours of additional processing time.
You may also collect your order from our Edinburgh warehouse which is located at 25 Dunedin Street, Edinburgh EH7 4JG by selecting this option at the shipping/delivery page whilst placing your order. Orders can be collected Monday - Friday between 9am and 5pm.
For evening/weekend collections you may collect from our sister yoga studio, Union Yoga Centre at 25 Rodney Street, Edinburgh, EH7 4EL by special request only. Simply select 'collection from the warehouse' and then get in touch so we can designate a day and time for your collection. Union Yoga has a small reception area - so they cannot store orders awaiting collection.
Delivery Methods within Mainland UK
We use DPD, Royal Mail and occasionally Fed Ex to ship orders.
Packages shipped using DPD are trackable and insured. If your order is not delivered as promised, we can issue a replacement or refund to you. Unfortunately, DPD does not service P.O. Box or APO addresses.
Packages sent via standard Royal mail are unfortunately untrackable.
We send you an email when we dispatch your order from our warehouse. We recommend when ordering for next day delivery that you ensure someone is in to recieve the order (or enter an alternative address for delivery).
Delivery times are of course for guidance and cannot be guaranteed unless we specifically describe them as such. Generally there are no issues but please be aware that very occasionally issues arise with the carrier and your order may be delayed.
We take great care to pass on any delivery notes that you provide with your order, but of course once we pass this on to the carrier it is up to the delivery driver to comply. We send the orders to be signed for, and so if you provide delivery instructions (such as leaving in an outbuilding etc) which results in a package being lost/damaged we are really sorry to say that the insurance/compensation would be invalidated.
International Shipping: We can deliver to you almost worldwide! Rates are calculated based on a number of factors, including desired service level, the weight of the item, and the cost of shipping, handling, and customs clearance from the UK to the destination country/region.
Want to check shipping charges before making a purchase? Add items to your cart and click the "check out" button. Don't worry, you will not be charged for an order until you submit your credit card information! You can also get in touch with us - we are happy to talk through your requirements!
Delivery charges vary depending on the package size, weight, destination and shipping method.
Delivery Promotional Offers
Like our customers, we are fans of delivery promotions. Unfortunately, however, any special delivery offers available on our website apply only to orders shipping to a UK Mainland destination.
We also regret that free delivery and/or other shipping promotions do not apply to oversized packages. Additional shipping charges will be added to all orders containing oversized products at the time of processing. You can always contact us for more information.
YogaSynergy sequences develop strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness, increase energy, and enhanced ability to deal with stress.
YogaSynergy was established in 1984 by physiotherapists Bianca Machliss and Simon Borg-Olivier. This is not a “style” of yoga as much as it is an approach to all ways of practicing yoga - based on a deep and sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology, modern medical science and traditional hatha yoga.
YogaSynergy methodology is informed by the work of Professor T. Krishnamacharya- the teacher of three very influential yoga masters: Sri B.K.S. Iyengar; Sri K. Pattabhi Jois; and Sri T.K.V. Desikachar.
The unique YogaSynergy way of practicing includes asana, vinyasa, pranayama and meditation. The YogaSynergy sequences develop strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness, increase energy, and enhance the ability to deal with stress.
YogaSynergy Fundamentals of Spinal Movements workshop
Toni Westaway has been practicing and teaching YogaSynergy for 8 years. The focus of this workshop is:
- the spine, arms, legs and breath and how use these effectively
- how the movement of upper and lower limbs effect the spine and overall energy of your yoga asana practice
Toni will demonstrate and teach a deeper understanding that will improve not only your physical asana practice, but also your fitness, core stability, circulation, digestive system and the overall health of your heart and lungs.
Toni's love affair with yoga began when she found a faded piece of paper with some yoga postures and exercises on it.
Even back then, with little guidance and only a rudimentary idea of what she was supposed to be doing, Toni discovered that the power of yoga lies in its ability to transform your perspective, habits and mental state - for the better.
Her approach to yoga is this: that the function of yoga asana is to bring about an awareness of connection within yourself, in a way that is playful, curious and challenging at the same time. She teaches and practices with careful consideration of sound anatomic and physiotherapy principles to ensure that your yoga asana practice is safe and balanced.
She completed her first yoga teacher training in 2008 with Jim Harrington. Since then she has advanced her studies with Jim Harrington, Simon Borg-Olivier, Shimon Ben Avi, Raghavendra Adiga-ji and Budokon University. She teaches yoga asana, meditation, yoga philosophy and Budokon Yoga.
