Apple and Cinnamon Porridge

We got this amazing recipe (and the image) from http://holycowvegan.net/2014/04/apple-cinnamon-oatmeal.html
What you will need...
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk (or alternative)
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (and more for sprinkling)
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and cut into a ¼-inch dice
  • 2 tbsp walnuts, chopped
Method
  1. Place the oats, salt and water in a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the chopped apples and half the almond milk. Stir well to mix.
  3. When the oatmeal returns to a boil, lower the heat to a simmer, cover with a lid, stirring frequently for about 15 minutes. If the oatmeal gets too dry just add some water or almond milk.
  4. When the oatmeal is smooth and creamy, turn off the heat. Stir in the maple syrup and cinnamon and the remaining almond milk.
  5. Ladle out into bowls, sprinkle on some more cinnamon and walnuts, Serve immediately.
  6. Enjoy your morning!! :)
